Robert Burton
Project Manager (Learning and Events)
I get to enjoy a varied and interesting role that touches on much of the work our team is doing. It’s everything from helping shape project communications and supporting the delivery of learning programmes to organising events and campaigns that raise the profile of our work, educate, and influence system-wide change.
I’ve always looked for jobs with a social purpose and joined the team at Thrive by Design after a couple of years working for the NHS Confederation where I was based in the events and partnerships team delivering a range of large-scale healthcare conferences and events. Prior to working around health and care I have held roles within student support at Leeds Beckett University and with a social enterprise conference centre that acted as the fundraising arm for a Leeds based homeless shelter and church.
With the work Thrive by Design does, and being rooted within the NHS, this role allows me to use my skills, experience and expertise in a way that has a positive impact on society; it’s rewarding knowing that each blog, event or workshop has the potential to inspire the change that makes a service more accessible to those who need it and that by sharing our learning, the successes of our projects and the impact that they have on health outcomes we can influence positive change across systems and places.
